Cite the claim, not the document
Every individual claim carries its own citation and the exact supporting quote — a bibliography at the end is not auditable.
- Attach sources at the sentence or claim level, not as a document-wide reference list.
- Include the verbatim quote that supports the specific claim; never paraphrase the key evidence.
- Claim-level citations let a reader verify each statement independently.
- Document-level bibliographies hide which source backs which claim — and which claims are unsupported.
- Stable, claim-anchored citations survive summarization and reuse.
